Education Grant

St. Louis Chapter of IFMA Continuing Education Grant Program

The St. Louis Chapter of IFMA invites facility professionals and associates to submit applications for a continuing education grant. The continuing education grant program was established to support the educational goals for qualified, facility management professionals and associates, in the St Louis area. The continuing education grant program recognizes qualified, local facility management related educational programs (i.e., architecture, construction, interior design, etc.). A review board reviews applications twice per calendar year (April and October). Notification of grant recipients is made by mail no later than the 15th day of the following month applications were due.

Grant Requirements & Limitations

Applications submitted must be clearly related to the facility management profession. Educational programs supported include locally held degree, certificate, and designation programs, as well as individual classroom style courses that earn continuing education units (CEU's). Distance learning programs and self-study courses will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Registration fees associated with conference style programs (i.e., World Workplace registration) are not eligible for the grant program.

Applications must be submitted prior to the course being offered. Funding will not be approved for coursework taken prior to the review of the application.

Grant funding is for course registration only. Books and other class materials are not eligible for reimbursement by the grant program.

Once an application has been approved, disbursement of funds is contingent upon successful completion of the continuing education program. Successful completion is defined as a letter grade of C or better or a Pass grade if letter grades are not provided. The applicant will be required to show proof of grade (i.e., transcript, grade report, completion certificate), and proof of purchase (i.e., copy of itemized receipt with amount clearly stated) before funds will be distributed.

The local continuing education grant program was established to assist facility professionals and associates whom otherwise would not receive financial support from their employer. Therefore, applicants are asked to certify they are not eligible for financial support from their employer (see attached form). Applicants who are eligible to receive financial support from their employer for the course/program requested on their application are not eligible for this grant program.

Applications are open to facility professionals and associates currently active in the facility management profession. Membership in the International Facility Management Association is not required.

Applicants must fill out the attached application form.
